“The next big thing is the one that makes the last big thing usable” -Blake Ross, Mozilla Firefox.
The next big thing about the carriers and barriers! This is valuable because attitude matters a lot in all your daily activities. And that is what determines if you are the carrier or the barrier. And this determines how successful you are in life.
The Carriers and the barriers
Now let’s see the book of Mark 2:1-12 NLT. 1 When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread fast that he was back home. 2 Soon, the house where he was staying was packed with visitors that there was no more room outside the door. While he was preaching God’s word to them, 3four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. 4 They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat in front of Jesus.
5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” 6 But some religious law teachers who were sitting there thought to themselves, 7 “What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!” 8 Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts?
9 Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’? 10 So I will prove that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, 11 “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” 12 The man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked through the stunned onlookers. They were amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!”
The next big thing in the life of the carriers is faith! What is Faith?
I know you might wonder what qualities in Jesus inspired the faith in those people. That made them bring the paralytic down through the roof to Him? It would be reasonable to think that the authority to heal and compassion are two attributes those men saw in Jesus!
You might ask yourself, what is faith? You can get the definition of faith in the book of Hebrews 11:1. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
The passage above has two kinds of people, the “Carriers” and “Barriers“.

the next big thing Here is How to Get Faith?
How do you get faith? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). To get faith; you need to study the Word of God and meditate on it day and night, as the book of Joshua 1:8 says. This Book of the Law must not leave your mouth. But you must read [and meditate on] it day and night. So that you may be careful to do [everything], that is written in it. Then, you will make your way to prosperity, and then you will be successful.
Now the paralyzed man got his healing not with his faith but with the faith of the people who carried him to Jesus. Suppose you can think about this a bit. You will see how often you have received something because of the people close to you.
Like how the families on earth have received blessings through Abraham, Genesis 12:3b. Now you and I have received God’s blessings and righteousness through Christ Jesus.
The Different Between the Carriers and the barriers
The Carriers believe in the power of God, and so bring others to Him. While the Barriers not only have no faith in God but also block others from coming to God. Now, do you think that you and I are no exception?

The “Carriers” live their lives as if everything depended on God. While the “Barriers” live as if everything depended on them.

The reward of faith
As you learned that it was not the faith of the Paralyzed Man. But the faith of the “Carriers” brought the paralyzed man to Jesus. Jesus rewards the faith of the “Carriers” by healing the paralyzed man.
The Paralyzed man after receiving the healing from Jesus. He became his disciples and followed Him.
Faith is trusting God in everything. That is what the four men that were carrying the paralytic man did. Let me ask you something! Can you ask yourself if you are a “Carrier” or a “Barrier” in your marriage, business, workplace, or school?
Conclusion
In your own life, you must help others experience the life and the hope that Jesus offers.
If they could only get their friend to Him, they seemed to have surmised Jesus would take care of the rest. The Good News about Jesus had led to faith; faith had led to hope, hope for perseverance.
And the next big thing in the life of the Carriers is! Jesus rewarded their perseverance with forgiveness and healing. I recommend that you come to Jesus in faith that He alone can heal and forgive your sins.
