How important is giving to you? And do you think it is necessary to give? Or are you searching the bible verses about giving? Then keep reading! Why is this important? It is essential because we all improve the world when you give, and I give. Also, it is essential to know more about giving so you don’t manipulate.

In this article, you will learn what giving is, two kinds of giving, bible verses about giving, what you can give, and finally, the benefits of giving.

What Is Giving?

It is presenting something voluntarily and without expecting compensation.

There Are Two Kinds of Giving

  1. Giving to God (Tithes and offerings)
  2. Giving to humans (What you have)

Bible Verses about giving

Giving tithes and offerings assures the blessings of God. Malachi 3:8, 10 “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob Me. But you ask, ‘How do we rob You?’ In tithes and offerings, bring the whole tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

You see, generosity takes preparation and planning. Leviticus 19:9-10 “When you harvest your crops don’t reap the corners of your fields, and don’t pick up stray grains of wheat from the ground. It is the same with your grape crop: don’t strip every last piece of fruit from the vines or pick up the grapes that fall to the ground. Leave them for the poor and those travelling through, for I am Jehovah your God.”

Generosity comes back to the giver. Luke 6:38 “For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measures, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you give, large or small will be used to measure what is given back to you.”

You should give your gift willingly. 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

You Give What You Have & more bible verses about giving

It is necessary to know that not only money that one can give, you can give your ideas, you can help, and you can also give your talent and advice.

Everyone should give as much as they can. 2 Corinthians 8:12 “If you are eager to give, then it is not important how much you have to give. God wants you to give what you have, not what you haven’t.

Much is required of those who have been given much. Luke 12:48 “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

God is the ultimate example of giving. John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Your life doesn’t depend on what you have or what you don’t have. Remember, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Because there is a promise on the one that gives, but there is no on the one that receives.

And never find yourself in a position of regret (for instance, if I had, I would have given). Because there are no challenges, you have not been given an accurate and effective solution.

Here are two examples in the bible

1. In 2 Kings 4:1-7 A confident woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, and she complained to him about how someone wanted to take her sons to be enslaved. Because the dead husband owned the man. So Elisha said to her, “what shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said she had nothing in the house but a jar of oil. Then Elisha said to her, Go, borrow empty vessels from everywhere, do not gather just a few. And gave her instructions on what to do.

Now it came to pass when she had done all that Elisha asked her to do, and the oil never stopped running. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons live on the rest.

Then the second example

2. Also, in Exodus 4:2-5 So, God said to Moses, What is that in your hand? He said a rod. And God said, Cast it on the ground. So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses fled from it. Then the Lord said to Moses, Reach out your hand and take it by the tail (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand), that they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.

What do you have? That is what matters.

No matter how small you receive as a salary, all you need is what has been given to you (the salary). It’s what you can do from there that count.

When you help people around you, you have more people who can do more for others.

What is the reason why people suffer for so long? For example, in the Bible, the man Jesus ministered to has been in that condition for 38 years.

The Answer is always complaining about the situation.

Benefits of Giving in the bible

1. Giving to God is an honour and a privilege. Mark 6:35-41

2. There is no receiving without giving. Genesis 22:10-19

3. You will never be helpless when you give. John 14:18
